16 companies participated in the bidding for the Women’s Premier League teams. In which five companies gave Rs 4669.99 crore to BCCI for the teams. Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd, Indiawin Sports Pvt Ltd, Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd, JSW GMR Cricket Pvt Ltd and Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd were the five successful companies in bidding for teams in the Women’s Premier League. After the bidding, many officials including BCCI President, Vice President, Secretary, Chairman of IPL Governing Council have congratulated. Let’s know who said what.
BCCI President Roger Binny said that I congratulate the winners for making successful bids for the WPL teams. The league will give players from India and abroad an opportunity to learn and grow together. This will pave the way for development at the grassroots level with the inclusion of more women cricketers. I would also like to congratulate the BCCI team for the smooth execution of the auction process. I am sure the league will help our women cricketers to shine on the global stage.
BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that it is a historic day for women’s cricket. I welcome Adani Sportsline Pvt. IndiaWin Sports Pvt Ltd, Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd, JSW GMR Cricket Pvt Ltd and Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd collective bid of 4669.99 Crore for Women’s Premier League shows that our stakeholders fully believe in the concept and are fully committed to the league. We believe in the vision and plans of BCCI for I thank all the participants for their overwhelming response. I believe that with the earlier record media rights valuation and now with these high bids, the league will be a commercially independent and self-sustaining asset.

BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said that this is the beginning of a new era of inclusivity where our women cricketers will get a unique opportunity to grow, thrive and excel at the global level with WPL. It fills my heart with pride to see such a positive change in women’s cricket. This is really going to set a benchmark for women’s cricket. Hearty congratulations to the new owners.

IPL Governing Council Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal said that I would like to congratulate and welcome all the winners in WPL. It is an honor and a pleasure to see the response we have received from participants for investing in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League. This is a strong testament to the value of women’s cricket as well as a central pool of self-sustaining resources for women’s cricket. I am sure with the commencement of WPL, women’s cricket will reach new heights.

BCCI Treasurer Ashish Shelar said that a historic day when we saw the beginning of a new era in women’s cricket. I congratulate and thank all the bidders for the faith shown in the Women’s Premier League. The teams bid a total of 4669.99 which is a record figure for a women’s tournament and an indicator of change to come. The Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be a sure platform for our women cricketers to flourish and excel.

BCCI Joint Secretary Devjit Saikia said that I congratulate all the five teams for getting the ownership rights of the Women’s Premier League. It is indeed a red letter day in the history of women’s cricket and for women in sports. We had 16 parties submit their bids, which confirms their confidence in the potential of the new league. The Women’s Premier League has already generated tremendous interest and these five teams will take the fan base to another level.
