New Delhi. India summoned a senior British diplomat to the capital on Sunday night in a strong protest against the removal of the Indian flag by supporters of Kharistan outside the Indian High Commission in London. Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi provided the information on Twitter, saying he faced strong opposition when he summoned a senior British diplomat to India.
India also demanded an explanation for Kharistan supporters entering the premises of the Indian High Commission in London and flying the Kharistan flag instead of the Indian flag. India also said the British government’s indifference to the safety of Indian diplomatic facilities and personnel in the UK was unacceptable. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement late at night calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators, as well as strict measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
Let me tell you that hundreds of Haristani supporters gathered outside the Indian High Commission in London on Sunday evening to protest the actions against Amritpar Singh. I entered the building and took off my tricolor. India strongly opposed this and summoned the British High Commissioner in Delhi. Meanwhile, a larger tricolor was hoisted over the High Commission.
Earlier, Haristan supporters who arrived at the High Commission held a flag of Haristan and a poster of Amritpar Singh. Posters include ‘Free Amritpal Singh’, ‘We want Justice’ and ‘We stand with Amritpal Singh’ It is written. I heard a voice say, “Haristan Zindabad.”
