Berlin: According to a new United Nations report, if the world wants to avoid the dreaded ‘global warming’, then it has to be kept in mind that time is running out of hand. This report is expected to be released on Monday. This report is based on a systematic summary of research on ‘global warming’ since the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement. It was approved at the end of a week-long meeting of the United Nations Intergovernmental Committee on Climate Change report in the Swiss city of Interlaken.
At the beginning of the meeting, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned the delegates that the Earth has reached a point of no return. He told delegates that there was a danger of exceeding the internationally agreed limit of ‘global warming’ of 1.5 °C (2.7 °F). This is because global emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are increasing, mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation and intensive agriculture. This is happening when it needs to be reduced. The United Nations report says that if the world wants to avoid the dreaded ‘global warming’, then it should be kept in mind that time is running out.
