Elena Rybkina stormed into the final of the BNP Paribas Open with a 6-2, 6-2 win over top seed Inga Swiatek of Poland in seven aces. In the final, Rybkina will face second seed Aryna Sabalenka, who beat Maria Sakrari 6-2, 6-3.
Ryabkina, who won the doubles title here in the year 2019, said that for me this tournament is like a Grand Slam. It took them 76 minutes to win the semi-final. Rybkina also defeated Swiatek in the Australian Open in January. In this tournament, defending champion Swiatek had won ten matches in a row before losing against Rybkina.
