British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Sunday dismissed Nadim Zahawi, the chairman of the Conservative Party in government. Sunak ordered an independent investigation into Zahavi’s tax affairs. An investigation found that Zahavi’s tax returns were incorrect. He broke the law of the ministers in tax matters.
The UK ministerial code sets out how ministers should conduct themselves and carry out their duties.
Nadim Zahavi was a minister in the British government but never held any ministry.
He became the Finance Minister in July last year
In July last year, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson appointed Zahavi as finance minister. He was also involved in the cabinet under Liz Truss. Sunak made him party chairman when he became PM.

Rishi Sunak sent a letter announcing Zahavi’s removal from the post. Sunak wrote – An independent consultant has shared his research findings with both of us. It is clear that there has been a serious breach of the Ministerial Code. That is why I am removing you from your position in government.
The British people were protesting to expel Zahawi from the government.
Jahavi was misleading about taxes
Independent consultant Laurie Magnus found that Zahavi was misleading about his taxes. In July last year, the report on Zahavi’s tax affairs was crystal clear.
