Islamabad, February 7: At least 25 people were killed and several others injured when a passenger bus and a car collided in Pakistan’s northern Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) region, government officials and police said on Tuesday. GB province Information Minister Fatehullah Khan told the media that the accident happened after a speeding bus collided with a car near the Shatial checkpost in the region’s Kohistan district.
The passenger bus and the car fell into the gorge after the accident, Xinhua news agency reported, adding that at least 45 passengers were on the bus at the time of the incident. Road accidents are frequent in Pakistan mainly due to bad roads, poorly maintained vehicles and unprofessional driving.
