Omar Sani-Mosumi, a popular pair in the nineties, received the ‘Nayakraj Razzak Award’ in Kolkata this time. The star couple jointly received the Nayakraj Razzak Namankit Lifetime Achievement Award by the West Bengal Bengal Film and Television Chamber of Commerce. However, these two stars of Dhakai movie could not go to Kolkata to receive the award.
Almas Hossain, visa chief of the Bangladesh Consulate in Kolkata, accepted the honor on behalf of Omar Sunny and actress Jaya Sheel Ghosh, wife of composer Vikram Ghosh, accepted the award for Mousumi.
This year the Bengal Film and Television Chamber of Commerce (BFTCC) entered its 8th year.
The program was organized on Wednesday (May 24) at the ICCR Auditorium in Kolkata. Cultural personalities of Bangladesh and West Bengal are honored through the event.
Permanent member of Bangladesh Defense Committee and Member of Parliament of Patuakhali-4 inaugurated the event. Mohibbur Rahman, Kolkata Mayor in Council Debashish Kumar, Almas Hossain, Press Secretary of Bangladesh Embassy Ranjan Sen, President of BFTCC RS Khemka and other dignitaries.
Mohibbur Rahman MP started the program and said that Bangladesh and India are culturally identical. Through that common culture, we are wandering in the cultural arena of the two countries. We also want such cultural programs to be more with the people of both Bengals. It will increase the communication and relationship between the people of the two countries, and the heart will increase.
On this day, eminent actress Lily Chakraborty received Hiralal Sen Lifetime Achievement Award. Director Harnath Chakraborty also received Lifetime Achievement Award from Devaki Bose.
