Speaker Om Birla urged the members to allow the House to run, but to no avail. A similar scene was witnessed in the Rajya Sabha when the BJP insisted on Rahul apologizing for the London remark. In contrast, the opposition members demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee inquiry into the investment of public money in the Adani group through institutions like LIC and SBI.

After this, when the House resumed in the afternoon, many members had already gathered in the Well. Earlier in the day, Trinamool Congress members raised slogans saying they were not being allowed to speak and wore black masks in protest.
