Four matches were played today in the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup to be held in South Africa. In Group D, India beat Scotland by 83 runs to register their third straight win, while hosts South Africa beat the UAE by 45 runs to register their second win. In Group A, Australia beat Sri Lanka by 108 runs to register their second win, while Bangladesh beat USA by 5 wickets to register their third win in a row.
Indian team won the toss and scored 149/4 in 20 overs with G Trisha scoring 57 off 51 balls. Richa Ghosh played a slow innings of 33 runs off 35 balls and Shweta Sehrawat played a scintillating innings of 31 runs off 10 balls. In reply, Scotland were bowled out for just 66 runs in 13.1 overs. Mannat Kashyap took 4 wickets for just 12 runs and was adjudged Man of the Match. Besides, Archana Devi took three wickets and Sonam Yadav took two wickets.

Australia scored 159/5 in 20 overs, in reply Sri Lanka were all out for just 51 runs in 13 overs. Maggie Clark and Lucy Hamilton took two wickets each for Australia. Ella Hayward (36 and 1/7 from 31 balls) was adjudged man of the match for her all-round performance.
Batting first, USA scored 103/4 in 20 overs, which Bangladesh won by 5 wickets in 17.3 overs. Disha Biswas was adjudged man of the match for taking 2 wickets for just 13 runs in 4 overs.
Batting first, South Africa scored 7/112 in 20 overs, to which the UAE team were bowled out for just 67 runs in 17 overs. Mian Smit (11 and 4/11) was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance.
The final day of the group stage will see England face Rwanda and Pakistan face Zimbabwe in Group B on January 19. In Group C, West Indies will face New Zealand and Ireland will face Indonesia. Then the Super 6 match will start from January 21.
