The victim of urination incident in Air India flight has approached the Supreme Court. The woman has filed the petition seeking a direction to the DGCA and airlines to lay down statutorily mandated standard operating procedures and rules to deal with incidents of misbehavior by passengers.
The victim woman has said that the flight crew threatened her to settle the matter with the urinating passenger. The crew said that he could not be given another seat. Even the pilot in command of the flight did not send an alert to the air traffic control. Doing so is in violation of the DGCA Cabin Safety Circular. DGCA also did not pay enough attention to his complaint.
Demand to ban reporting in media
The plea has also sought a ban on media reporting of the incident while seeking to set a limit on the serving of liquor on international flights. On January 31, the Sessions Court of Patiala House Court granted bail to Shankar Mishra, the accused in the case.
