Currently, it is not possible to add Visa, Master credit cards to Google Pay or any other UPI payment app in India.
New Delhi: Google Pay can be used for UPI payments using RuPay Credit Card. For this Google collaboration with National Payment Corporation of India (NCPI) has been ensured. Users can now add RuPay credit cards to Google Pay and make payments to online, offline merchants.
Currently, Google Pay supports RuPay credit cards issued by Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, Indian Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India, and more banks will be added in the coming days, the company confirmed.
UPI based payment methods like most payment apps will only support payments using Google Pay Debit Card. With the new update, users can now add their RuPay credit card and do money transactions at merchants across the country without any limits. Currently, it is not possible to add Visa, Master credit cards to Google Pay or any other UPI payment app in India.
How to add RuPay Credit Card to Google Pay?
Open Google Pay and go to Settings
Select Setup Payment Method Click Add RuPay Credit Card
Enter details like last six digits of credit card, expiry date, PIN, verify the same using OTP
You can now select a RuPay credit card, scan the barcode or enter the UPI ID user’s phone number while making a payment to any UPI vendor.
