A few months ago, the Met increased the maximum reel length to 90 seconds.
Increased the maximum length of Reels that can be posted to Facebook. Users can now post reels up to 90 seconds long on Facebook. Meta-owned social media platforms previously limited the length of reels to 60 seconds.
This now applies to Facebook as well. The extra 30 seconds gives creators more freedom to create engaging reels. However, it has not yet been possible for Facebook to reach out to Tiktok in this regard. Tiktok users were given a time limit of up to 10 minutes. This timeline of Tiktok is currently higher than any vertical video (video in portrait mode) platform.
Apart from this, Facebook has also brought many minor changes in the Reels platform. Reels can be created very easily using memory posts and pre-built templates in the timeline. Reels have become Meta’s fastest growing content format. It attracts content creators and Facebook users at the same time.
Tiktok, YouTube shorts, Instagram, Facebook reels have all increased the popularity of short content. These are designed in vertical format for smartphones. Users don’t have to spend extra time creating these videos as compared to videos in horizontal format / traditional way, plus most short video platforms allow creators to create content using licensed music. This will help content creators to create more engaging videos.
