Announcement of Shaurya-Kirt Chakra awards, total 21 bravehearts got the award. GOI awarded 6 Kirti Chakras, 15 Shaurya Chakras on Republic day

GOI awarded 6 Kirti Chakras, 15 Shaurya Chakras on Republic day : The Government of India has awarded Shaurya and Kirti Chakra to 21 bravehearts. In this episode, late Commander Nishant Singh was awarded the Navy Medal (Gallantry) (posthumously) for saving the life of his trainee pilot in a MiG-29K plane crash in November 2020. At the same time, Captain Rakesh TR of 9 Para (Special Forces) has been awarded Shaurya Chakra for eliminating a terrorist and preventing a fidayeen attack during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public rally on April 24 last year. So in April 2022 Naik Jitendra Singh of Rajput Regiment was awarded Kirti Chakra for killing 2 terrorists in an operation despite being seriously injured in an encounter in Pulwama district.

On the occasion of the country’s 74th Republic Day, the government has announced 4 Kirti Chakra awards, in which 4 martyrs have been selected for the Kirti Chakra. At the same time, two of the bravehearts who got 15 Shaurya Chakras have got this award for bravery posthumously. Kirti Chakra recipients include Major Shubhang of Dogra Regiment, Naik Jitendra Singh of Rajput Regiment, Constable Rohit Kumar (posthumously) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, SI Deepak Bhardwaj (MHA) posthumously, Head Constable Sodhi Narayan (MHA) posthumously, Head Constable Shravan Kashyap (MHA) has been posthumously selected for the Kirti Chakra. A total of 412 gallantry awards will be given this year.

These 15 bravehearts have got the Shaurya Samman. In which the names of Major Aditya Bhadoria of Kumaon Regiment, Captain Arun Kumar of Kumaon Regiment, Captain Yudhveer Singh of Rashtriya Rifles and Naik Jasbir Singh (posthumously) of Jammu Kashmir Rifles are included. See full list…
