Jairam Ramesh On Anil Antony Resignation: Anil Antony resigned from the Congress on Wednesday (January 25, 2023) due to the controversy over the BBC documentary (India: The Modi Question) based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM MODI). After Anil Antony resigned from the Congress party, the reaction of senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has come to the fore.
Jairam Ramesh tweeted without naming former Chief Ministers of Kerala Oommen Chandy and AK Antony. He wrote in tweeting, ‘The story of two sons of two Chief Ministers of a state. There is a Bharat Yatri who is tirelessly walking mostly barefoot in Bharat Jodo Yatra to unite the nation. The other is enjoying his day in the sun neglecting his duties towards partying and traveling.’
Let me tell you, in a tweet, Anil Antony informed that despite all the differences with the BJP, it would be a dangerous trend to give importance to the views of BBC and former UK Foreign Secretary Jack Straw more than the views of Indian institutions. He had said that doing so would affect India’s sovereignty. Antony had said that BCC is a UK government sponsored channel and has been affected by bias towards India.
In his resignation letter, Anil Antony wrote, “I am well aware that your co-workers and the circle around the leadership are only willing to work with a bunch of sycophants and sycophants.”
According to media reports, Anil Antony was looking after the work of digital communication of Congress till a few days back. Antony’s resignation from the Congress party comes at a time when Congress branches in Kerala have announced screening of BBC documentary on PM Modi. After which there has been an uproar on this issue. While resigning, Antony has also thanked Kerala Congress leadership and leader Shashi Tharoor. In his resignation letter, he has mentioned the sycophant and chamcha mandali culture.
