Pakistan’s government, which is facing a financial crisis, has prepared a bill to save the army and local courts from conflict. Under this, changes will be made in the sections of the Penal Code and CrPC therein.
Under the new sections proposed by the government, anyone who makes any disparaging speech about the army or the court there, will be imprisoned and will also be fined.

Imran Khan’s government also came up with a bill in 2020 to save the army from being downgraded.
The Bill was prepared on the advice of the PM and the Home Ministry
The bill was drafted by the Home Affairs Department on the recommendations of the cabinet and the PM. It has also been reviewed by the Ministry of Law and Justice of Pakistan. It will soon be placed in the cabinet for approval.
In the new law it is written that if any person or organization publishes something or circulates that photo, video or article on any platform with the intention of tarnishing the image of the army, they will have the right to be punished.
Under the new section, he will be imprisoned for 5 years and will have to pay a fine of 10 lakh. If the crime is serious, he will have to face fines and penalties. Under the new law, anyone who misbehaves in the military or in court will be arrested without a warrant and bail will not be granted.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah can be seen in the picture.
Pakistani army and courts are not immune to propaganda
In the summary of the bill, it has been said that in the past, there have been brutal and shameful attacks on the armed forces and the judiciary of Pakistan. Some organizations and individuals do this for their own benefit. As a result, an atmosphere of hatred is created in the country towards them. While the army and the court cannot take any concrete step in the ongoing propaganda against them.
Because of this, in 2021 again the same bill was approved by the Standing Committee of the Legislative Assembly. The bill proposed a two-year prison sentence. However, at that time there was strong opposition to this bill. Not only the opposition parties but also the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ministers Fawad Chaudhary and Shireen Mazari were against it. This bill was considered against freedom of speech.
After this, in November last year, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced that no such changes would be made to the law. As a result, people’s freedom of speech is at risk.
