5 most successful captains in IPL history, this Indian player is also included in the list…

IPL : In a tournament like IPL, the role of the captain is very important as the game changes very quickly in T20. However, leading a team in such a big tournament is not an easy task. If a player fails to perform as captain then the franchises also do not give him much time. There have been few cricketers who have captained the team for a long period of time because of their consistent performances. Today we will discuss about the 5 most successful captains in IPL history.

1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma’s name is included in the list of most successful captains in the history of IPL. Rohit Sharma is the only player to win 5 IPL trophies in 8 years as captain. Also, in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020, Mumbai Indians have been made the champions of IPL. Rohit’s winning percentage is 56.64.

Except for the 2016 and 2020 and 2022 seasons, he has led his team to the IPL playoffs in all the seasons.

3. Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir is present at number three. Gambhir has captained Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Kolkata Knight Riders. As a captain, Gambhir has played 129 matches from 2009 to 2018. In this, he was successful in winning 71 matches. His winning percentage was 55.42. Under Gambhir’s captaincy, KRR has won the IPL title twice in 2012 and 2014.

4. Shane Warne

Shane Warne ranks fourth in this list. Warne captained the Rajasthan Royals from 2008 to 2011. Shane Warne won 30 matches from 55 matches. His winning percentage was 55.45. Apart from this, in 2008, IPL also won the inaugural title.

5. Adam Gilchrist

As a captain, Adam Gilchrist played 74 matches and won 35 matches. His winning percentage was 47.29. Gilchrist won the title to Deccan Chargers in the year 2009 under his own captaincy.
